Get to Dongguan

Dongguan is a prefecture-level city in central Guangdong Province of

South China. Asan important industrial city in the Pearl River Delta, Dongguan borders

the provincial capital of Guangzhou to the north, Huizhou to the northeast, Shenzhen to

the south, and the Pearl River to the west. It is part of the Pearl River Delta megacity with

more than 44.78 million inhabitants at the 2010 census spread over nine municipalities

(including Macao) across an area of 17,573 square kilometres (6,785 sq mi). Dongguan's

city administration is considered especially progressive in seeking foreign direct investment.

Dongguan ranks behind only Shenzhen, Shanghai and Suzhou in exports among Chinese

cities, with $65.54 billion in shipments. It is also home to one of the world's largest, though

largely empty, shopping malls, the New South China Mall. The majority of the population

speak Mandarin due to migrants from other parts of the country.

How to get to Dongguan?

By plane

The Pearl River Delta has one of the largest concentrations of international airports

in the world, including Guangzhou-Baiyuan, Shenzhen Bao'an,

Hong Kong International Airport and Zhuhai airport and Macau airport.

The Guangzhou-Baiyuan airport is just over an hour from the Dongguan city center.

There is a shuttle busservice provider in Dongguan

and Guangzhou/Shenzhen airports. If hiring a car, the fare will be about ¥300.

By train

The railway system in China is very convenient, you could take a train to

Dongguan from nearly every city in China. In you take a high-speed train,

then the destination should be Humen or Dongguan station, if you take a normal

speed train, the destination should be Changping station. After taking off

the train, you could transfer to Metro to get to GDE.

By ferry

If you are landing at HK international airport, then taking ferry is one of the most convenient way for you to choose. By taking a ferry at SkyPier, you could get to nine ports in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) and Macao.
